Is this allowed under Amazon's review rules?
Yes. Books are the one category where Amazon permits a free advance copy in exchange for the possibility of an honest review. Readers are never paid, reviews are never required, and every review discloses the free copy, which keeps authors, readers, and the Hive inside Amazon's and the FTC's guidelines.
Do readers have to leave a review?
No. Reviews are voluntary, always. But the Honey Score rewards readers who follow through: the more honest reviews you finish, the earlier you're approved for new and limited releases.
Can authors see or influence reviews before they post?
Never. Authors approve who receives a copy, not what they write. Star ratings and sentiment are entirely the reader's own.
What does it cost?
Reading is free, forever. No subscription, no payment. Authors start with a free profile and can add a membership that covers listing and promotion only, never the reviews themselves.
